Where we are based: In Baile na nGall (Ballydavid), The heart of the Kerry Gaeltacht, West of an Daingean (Dingle), Co. Kerry.

What we do?

  • We provide an enjoyable holiday to groups of people through the medium of Irish, in an Irish cultural environment with gaeltacht people and to allow them to participate fully in the daily life of the Gaeltacht.

Who is it for?

  • Groups of people who have Irish but want the opportunity to practice and improve their spoken Irish.

  • Groups of people who want to participate in fun activities through the medium of Irish.

  • Groups of people who want a holiday in the Gaeltacht, to interact amongst the local people and the opportunity to practice and improve their spoken Irish.

  • Groups of new learners, where we can also custom-tailor packages in a bilingual form, which makes them equally attractive to people with little or no Irish.

A sample of a lively weekends programme of activities at Gaeilge Beo;

Friday Evening: – Arrive and settle into your self-catering accommodation in the Coast Guard Lodge. An evening meal can be arranged for the group in the bars restaurant. Meet the locals, story telling, craic and a few pints in Tigh TP.

Saturday: – Breakfast, Hill walking and an archaeological and cultural tour around the breathtaking setting of the Dingle Peninsula. Packed lunch can be included. Visit the local museums, Ionad Na Blascaoid or An Diseart.

Saturday Night: An arranged evening buffet or dinner in a local Irish restaurant, Live traditional music session, Ceilí Mór (West Kerry Set Dancing) and maybe a few more pints in Tigh TP!

Sunday: – A morning group discussion on local history and Irish place names on the Dingle Peninsula or an arranged Trá na ceist (quiz) is also an option.
